Greetings, potential Burning
Man volunteer. Thank you for stepping forward. This questionnaire is designed
to be kept in our archives to assist us in finding help for projects this
year and into the future. Since it is difficult to know how we will grow
and where our future needs lie, it is important that you fill out this
questionnaire as completely as possible. This information will remain
strictly confidential. We will not share this information with anyone.
If you are not trying to volunteer, but you merely want
to be kept informed about current affairs in the Burning Man community,
please subscribe to the email newsletter called the
Jack Rabbit Speaks or add yourself to the Snail
Mail list.
During the month of August and September, all teams have
already finished most of their volunteer recruitment and are very likely
on the playa, unable to respond to your inquiries immediately. However;
there are plenty of volunteer opportunities available during the event.

Finally, as you fill out this questionnaire, you will
learn a lot about how Burning Man uses volunteers. We use volunteers for
a wide variety of activities - and you should only give us information
about how you would be willing to volunteer for Burning Man. If you are
a doctor, but don't ever want to volunteer as one, you don't need to tell
us. Likewise, if you are a circus performer that only wants to volunteer
as a circus performer, let us know that too.
For the record-- we are both centralized, and highly decentralized. We
use this form to centralize the collection of information, but then we
rely on volunteer managers in each of the departments to utilize this
information. Also, some of our best volunteers are the folks who step
forward and tell us they want to lead a project, let us know if you have
an idea. Somehow it all works. We can't wait to meet you. Proceed.
